NFSC Graduate Students Go Global!

The UMD Global STEWARDS program is a part of the Global FEWture Alliance Institutional Grand Challenges Program and allows graduate students to enhance their perspectives on the Food, Energy, Water nexus. With collaborations in Nepal, Israel and most recently, Tanzania, the group inculcates a sense of community oriented thinking and challenges the participating students to go out of their comfort zones and explore various aspects of the FEW nexus.

Opeyemi and Ujjwol travelled to Nepal and explored the agricultural practices while soaking in the cultural heritage of the country nestled at the base of the mighty Himalayas.

Aishwarya was a part of the inaugural team that travelled to Tanzania to understand the Tanzanian wine and agricultural industry as well as carry out exchanges of ideas with their counterparts at Mbeya University of Science and Technology.
